5 Fun Easter Crafts for Children

Jesus has risen! Easter celebrates the life, death and resurrection of Jesus. Creating crafts for your child to be immersed in the meaning of Easter and have fun while doing so can be challenging. Here are five fun Easter crafts to do with your child:

Painted Cupcake Liner Wreath

Wreath decorating is a great way for everyone to get creative without too much mess. This is an engaging family craft for ages 3 and up, and it takes an hour to complete. While making this craft, you can explain the meaning of Easter to your children. One thing you can mention is the crown of thorns that Jesus wore, explaining why He wore it: for His children! Woven Paper Easter Baskets

Weaving baskets with your children is a great way to explain how people lived during Jesus’ time. Learning about their lives provides great context to the stories in the Bible! All you will need is some colored paper and scissors. With no mess and about one hour of work, your child will have lovely woven baskets that tie into the history of Easter! Find full instructions here.

Painted Pot Easter Baskets

If your child loves to paint and you love plants, this is a great craft for your family! Using terra-cotta pots is a great alternative to buying plastic baskets because it's practical and a really cute keepsake. You can fill these up with chocolate bunnies and carrots, or real carrots, and jelly beans. Pick up some terra-cotta pots from your local craft or hardware store with some paint, and follow this tutorial to paint bunnies on your baskets here.

Marble Eggs

What’s Easter without Easter eggs? Make your eggs stand out with a marbled effect! To do this project, you’ll need to create a mixture of water and nail polish, then dip your eggs into it, creating a marble effect, and let them dry. These will look pretty but can be a little messy. Rubber gloves are recommended. For more information click here.

Bunny and Chick Bookmark

This craft is great for kids ages 3 and up. This bookmark is easy to make and will take about an hour, some paper and glue. Your children can use this craft after Easter as placeholders in the Bible for quick access to their favorite passages and parables. Check out the full instructions here.
