STREAM at St. Teresa

At St. Teresa Catholic School, it is our mission to develop the whole child. Our challenging academic environment pushes each child to reach their potential, and our differentiated instruction engages students in the learning process. Through our STREAM program, students are prepared to become compassionate, innovative, and well-rounded 21st-century leaders. Learn about how we use STREAM at St. Teresa!

Science

In our science classes, students learn to expand their existing understanding of the world. We encourage each child to embrace their natural curiosity and practice abstract thinking, develop and test theories, and draw conclusions.

We couldn’t be prouder of our 22 students who participated in the Brevard Mainland Regional Science Fair! They received 41 awards, including four 1st places, two 2nd places, five 3rd places, four 4th places, and runner-up for Best in Show. There were also four students who received State Science Fair Bids, three who received Orlando Science Center bids, and four who received Broadcom Masters Bids.

Technology

We pride ourselves on our commitment to using advanced technology in our classrooms. We incorporate interactive whiteboard technology, laptops, and computers to enhance the student’s learning experience, and we partner with schools to teach our students about future careers in the field of technology.

UCF visited our third-eighth grade students and presented their Maps, Apps, and Drone program. Students flew a drone, learned how to create a map, and using an iPad locate a specific location using latitude and longitude.

Religion

Because not all students attending our school are Catholic, we make sure to provide a safe learning environment for all denominations, as we all share experiences of faith and values. We nurture our students to guide them in their spiritual and academic growth. From our youngest to oldest learners, St. Teresa students establish a strong foundation of faith in a caring, Christ-centered community.

Our 3 year-olds sang ‘Yes, Jesus Loves Us’ and led our school in song.

Engineering

Students get hands-on experience by practicing engineering concepts, and they learn how to combine their creativity with their math and science to solve real-world problems.

Fourth graders were instructed to design and build a bridge model that could hold 40 pennies. After researching the history of bridges, students drew, constructed, and tested their final bridge before presenting it to their class.

Arts

We weave the arts into our daily curriculum as well as into our extracurricular activities. From Art Club to Drama Club to Handbell Choir, students enjoy a variety of opportunities to use their artistic and creative sides! These activities build self-confidence, allow students to practice presenting concepts visually, and teaches them to see the world differently.

In fourth grade, students begin to serve at Mass, and this art project reflected the power of sharing the gospel with the congregation at mass. Students walked boldly through the church body while holding their artistic representation of the Word of God above their heads.

Math

In math classes, students develop their critical thinking skills. Our educators are dedicated to making math exciting and engaging in order to inspire the world’s next generation of logical thinkers and problem solvers.

Third-grade students enjoyed practicing their multiplication facts by playing checkers.
