Understanding The Styles
Researchers have categorized three main ways that we absorb information. While most children utilize each style, there’s one above all that best enhances their ability to learn and retain knowledge.

Auditory Learners
Auditory learners learn best through listening. These students enjoy using music, rhymes, and repetitive phrases to retain curriculum. Children who prefer this style of learning tend to be very conversational and follow oral directions well, and they prefer to have each step of the process explained in-depth before they begin.

Visual Learners

Kinesthetic Learners
These learners respond best by physically doing what they are learning. They tend to fidget when sitting down and rely on hand gestures and facial expressions when trying to learn or teach something. Instead of using a calculator, they might use their fingers. Because kinesthetic learners thrive when there’s action involved, they may not be the best listeners; they function best when they get to learn something that requires touching and physical demonstration.
